Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum)
is a fungus that affects:


Phoenix canariensis – Canary Island Date Palm
Phoenix reclinata – Senegal Date Palm
Phoenix robelinii – Pygmy Date Palm


Prevention of this disease is important since fungicides have proved to be ineffective at saving an infected tree. To avoid transmission of the fungus, it is recommended that any handsaws or pruning tools be disinfected in between use on each individual palm.
